Wish List & Black Friday FAIL!

A quick run down on my Black Friday this year. It really sucked and I didn't find much this time around. I wish my husband was here to help me because last year when we went, it was a really successful trip. I had to go by myself this time and I left the house at 2300 on Thanksgiving and when I got to the mall it was packed and every store that I planned to hit up was almost empty and trashed. Apparently the stores opened at 2000 this year which was crazy because we were eating dinner during that time. Oh btw, I had my first glass of wine ever, mind you I have been 21 for seven months already.

After the mall I went to Walmart; same scene.. empty and trashed. The MCX didn't open until 0500 so I was able to go home and sleep for awhile, it was about 0230 when I got home. I ended up going to the MCX with my parents around 0700 and that's when I was able to find some things. I surprisingly didn't get a Michael Kors bag because I didn't find one I liked, but I did get a new pair of Raybans which I'm still debating on. Got some gifts, games for my husband and when we got home it was around 1130. I went to sleep and woke up around 1500 and went to a different Walmart where I was able to find some stuff for gifts. I was pretty much disappointed this year, but next year should be better because my husband will go with me.

Here's a collage of some of the things on my wish list. There's not many beauty items I want so I separated them from the fashion-y items.

Ray-ban Gradient Gold Aviators - I already have the Ray-ban Classic Aviators, but I want one with a gradient lens. The lens on the one I have is darker but I still love them.

Mustard Beanie - Particularly the one (shown) from DailyLook. I feel like it will compliment my auburn hair color. I'm waiting on Cyber Monday to see if I can get a good coupon code; if not I will have to find some cute items on the site to make my order worthwhile.

Nike Pro Leggings & Shorts - I mainly want these for the gym and to wear around the house. I was planning to get them at the Exchange during Black Friday but they ran out of my size. Hopefully they will restock because I will not buy them full price at the mall.

Michael Kors Two-Tone Watch - I don't collect watches (as much as my sister does) but I need a silver watch to complete my "collection". I already own a white, rose gold and gold watch so I just need silver, but I didn't want plain silver and this two-tone one has just enough gold for me to want it.

Navy Crochet TOMS & Red TOMS - The crochet design is just too cute and I love the navy color. I also like the red ones because I like wearing red for some reason.

Dr. Martens 1460 Black Greasy - The one shown is in the smooth leather but I decided I want the one in the greasy leather because the smooth leather is the hardest leather to break in. I still haven't broken in my cherry 1460s.

Michael Kors Logo Hamilton Satchel in Vanilla - This bag is the hardest for me to find! They sold it at the Exchange awhile back but then I don't see it anymore. I really like this style and I already have it in the luggage color. I don't have a MK bag in the vanilla color yet and I really want it in this style.

Laura Mercier Secret Finish - I heard this is really good for oil control so I definitely want to try it.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche - I have been wanting this perfume for a couple years now, but I cannot fork up the money to buy it.

Loreal Miracle Blur - Again, I heard this is really good as a primer but for a drugstore product, I can't seem to justify paying $20 for it.

Recent outfits

For the fall and winter, I wear the same outfit concept. Lots of layers and boots. Like my denim vest in the summertime, I've been wearing my olive green jacket from Hollister that I bought last winter. I still haven't broken in my cherry Doc Martens even though I wear them as much as I can. They don't hurt as much as when I first bought them, but they aren't entirely comfortable yet. I'm about to purchase my second (& last) pair of docs and I am not looking forward to breaking those in either. I might as well get it over with though while I am still in the processing of breaking in my cherry Docs.

I also just recently tried out thigh high socks last week. I bought a couple pairs; they were labeled "over-the-knee" socks but because I am only 4'11", they are thigh length for me. I wear them when I want to wear shorts but don't want to wear tights with them. Only downside is that I find myself having to pull them back up to my thighs because when I walk they tend to slide down a little, like above my knees. Nonetheless, I really like the style.

Where Have I Been?

I honestly just woke up this morning and said to myself, "I've neglected my blog for half a year. Time to get back on that train". Since I made this my beauty and lifestyle blog, maybe I can add my fitness in here too. Instead of rambling, I'll just let pictures do all the explaining about where I've been:

My husband deployed :'(

Met Jaaakjack at the mall in mid-October

Chopped off 8 inches off the ends (Halloween day)

Joined the gym

The main reason why I've been gone.

Recent Beauty Purchases

(I just realized how difficult it is for me to keep up with blogging)

These are the most recents items I picked up from the drugstore and Ulta.

I mostly picked these up because of the flavors. I haven't used "Chapstick" brand lip balm since I was younger. But these were just too cute! Even though I love red velvet cake, this doesn't smell like it. The scent reminds me of gummy candy. The 'Cake Batter' flavor, I'm liking more because it smells exactly like a cupcake! Both were 99 cents btw.

Chapstick

I only really got this because I need a new base coat and top coat. This came with a double pack for 5 bucks.

Nutra Nail Bullet-Proof Strength base and top coat

I've tried white eyeliner on my waterline before and it looked fake. But I saw ThatsHeart using this and I've been looking around for affordable nude eyeliners and I saw this at Walmart for around 3 bucks. I already own the black khol one and I really like it. This goes really nicely on the waterline and stays for a good amount of time. All I need to do is actually get used to the way it looks on me. It really does 'open up the eyes' and make them a lot brighter.

ScandalEyes Waterproof Khol Kajal Eyeliner

The Ulta I go to finally stocked up on this brush. I really wanted it because Tanya Burr likes using this to apply foundation. And these are the kinds of brushes I like to use as well. I was also going to get the stipple brush with the purple handle but it looked too much like my Sonia Kashuk multifunction brush (I'm not sure what the exact name is, but it's a small flat top brush). Knowing me though, I'm most likely going to get it anyway. Plus I really like the powder brush and blush brush from the line.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush $9.99

This mask is just simply amazing. If you use the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle like I do, this is basically that but better. And I don't know if it's a difference or not, but this product is a mask. I heard some leave it on as an overnight treatment but it says on the bottle to leave it for 7 to 10 minutes. The first time I used it, I noticed a major difference on my hair. It felt really soft and I couldn't stop running my fingers through it. I got the tube version 1. Because it was cheaper (I couldn't fork up the 33 dollars, yet), this 3.3 oz tube was 15 dollars and 2. Because I think it'll be easier to dispense the product out. You really don't need a lot and I don't want to get water in the tub version of this (which has about 8.4 oz).  I'm for sure going to use this once a week because I don't want my hair to get used to the product and not work as well (like my Aussie 3 min. miracle, I use it so often and my hair got used to it so it kind of lost its effectiveness).
Macadamia Deep Repair Masque 3.3 oz $15

I picked up some lashes because they were on sale 2 for $6. I like using Salon Perfect #53 for every day use and these ones reminded me of them. The lash band on these are more flexible. I really want to try the Katy Perry lashes in Oh Honey!.

Ardell Lash Lites

I haven't seen these lip products from Wet n Wild before so of course had to try one. This one is called 'Salsa Lessons'. On my lips, it's like an orange-red with a creme finish. I really like the formula and can't wait to try more.

Wet n Wild Mega Lip Color SPF 15 in Salsa Lessons 369S

This one had a 'New' sticker on it so, why not! I got it in 'Back to the Fuchsia' and 'Red My Mind'. They are both beautiful colors but feel very weird on the lips. It goes on wet like a lip gloss and in a matter of minutes it dries as if you don't have any product on your lips. It definately didn't budge at all.

Time for a Touch Up - Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Foam in Medium Auburn 5R

Tonight I dyed my hair using a new box dye from the drugstore. Actually, it's not new to me; I used it before when I wanted to color it light brown and I was not happy with the results. It wasn't even a medium brown, it turned out to be like a dark brown. And I was just going to stick to the regular box dye that I use which is by John Frieda called Precision Foam Colour.

I decided to give Garnier another change and purchased the Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Foam in "Medium Auburn 5R"

I was so shocked after I washed my hair and let it towel dry. You know when your hair is wet or damp even, it's kind of darker looking. Well, my hair was still damp and it looked soo red! Not what I was going for at all. I kept going in different rooms and different lighting to make sure I wasn't just in a bad lighting but it still looked so red and I was panicking! Another thing I did was to take some pictures on my DSLR camera. Still red.

Now that my hair as fully dried and I took more pics, this time on my iPhone, I also compared it to pics I took when I dyed it with the box dye I used last summer (The color I wanted) and it looked kind of the same. Earlier, I was paying attention to my roots more, and I guess I wasn't used to seeing them not black (I had really bad roots because last time I dyed it was 9 months ago in the summertime). Oh by the way, I was going for my hair color before I dyed it tonight, a medium red-brown. This one turned out more red than reddish brown. But I'm starting to be okay with it now. I have to look at it outdoors tomorrow. Here is my usual box dye that I use to get my hair color:

For now, I'm going to say that these two colors are similar. I just freaked out at first with my roots being so red, but I guess I was not used to it because I had bad roots for a long time. So, either brand color 5R  is okay if you want to achieve my hair color. I still need to see my hair in daylight to get my final opinion so I will do an update on my hair in another post.

My hair almost dry.

Fully dried hair.

My hair in brighter lighting.

Let me know what you think! :)

Starting Up Again

I'm starting up my blog again so that I can share more products individually. I've never been really good at blogging when it comes to creativity but hopefully now I can get better at it with my Macbook. Anyways, be prepared for more beauty and fashion posts because I have gone crazy with trying out new makeup and fashion items. I want to be able to go more in depth with my opinions on products I have been enjoying and want to share my thoughts with you.

Just a heads up though, I absolutely love lipstick (bright/hot pink/fuchsia.. just lipstick in general), foundations (or just anything that has to do with complexion) and spring/summer clothes (these seasons are when I shop for clothing the most!). So these upcoming posts may or may not be boring depending if you like like the stuff I do; which is lots of lip & face stuff and L O T S of hauls ;)

Why K I S S & M A K E U P ?

(Doesn't sound very original, i know.. In fact, I think there's a youtuber with that sn but it's cool. I don't follow/know the person)

Well "K I S S" I refer to my obsession with lippies (I only kiss my husband if you are thinking otherwise lol) and "M A K E U P", well for the obvious reason, This is hellomeganda's beauty blog! (also includes skincare, haircare and all that jazz..) And I could fit "fashion" into the title without it being long or complicated but it's included :)

Okay enough rambling, I sure do hope you enjoy reading!

Take care :)
